Was a little unsure when I brought this 2 in 1 Tablet, but am glad I did. It has been able to do everything I have asked of it so far with flying colors. During a class I was taking, I was able to have 2 large PDF files open, while browsing the internet with 5 tabs open, and checking my email, jumping around between each with no noticeable slowing down. I did put a 128gb micro SD card in it which I loaded several movies, and e-books, and loaded a couple of programs to (family history and word processor to the card) and all ran nicely. And while the touchpad itself is not the greatest, I was able to use both a USB corded mouse and a Bluetooth mouse with no issues. The battery life itself does not look all that great, but I was able to watch a 2 hour movie and still have nearly 50% still available (my wifi was on at the time), and using an external USB battery was able to charge the tablet (via it’s mini USB port) while watching a second movie. And the size of the computer/tablet makes its easily to take with you wherever you go.

well… i was on the fringe for a while about purchasing one of these due to some of the negative reviews and the last time i had an RCA tablet, it sucked majorly. well i finally bit the bullet and got one for when i am traveling. First off, this this has surpassed my expectations. although its not a power house or even a work horse it still is an awesome little netbook/tablet. disabling Cortana and a few other services made this thing super snappy.
next i charged it up too 100% then watched Netflix on battery for 4.5 hours to drain it and then let it recharge to make sure the battery was calibrated. i added a 64GB Samsung EVO micro SD and got a powered 3.0 USB universal docking station for it so i can use it as a semi modular desktop when i am in hotels. with a 21″ LCD this think rocks for doing basic web surfing like Reddit, YouTube, Netflix. i installed mumble and discord on it to chat with my friends, works flawlessly. i even got it to steam stream a few games from my main rig @ 20 – 25FPS with borderlands 2. Bluetooth’d my Xbox one controller and i was in business. This little tablet is well more then worth the $120, in fact the HP stream is a $210 unit that is basically the same thing but with a bigger screen and built in keyboard, you can even get this guy cheaper at WalMart for $87 if your really budgeted.

Pros: 1: price. $85 – $124 depending on where you get it from.
2: full fledged legit windows 10 home
    3. USB 3.0 and Bluetooth
    4. 720p resolution

Cons: 1. the keyboard is a little flimsy when attached, ended up velcroing the keyboard to a case i had purchased,
2: a little slow out of the box, disabling unused windows services helped out a lot.
    3. No 5ghz Wifi, it will do 2.4 AC.
4.. kinda a con but not really.. No GPS. it would have been really cool to have GPS on this thing, but a $10 external adapter will solve that
    5. the on board speaker sucks, like it really is crap. it is way too tinny and easily gets distorted at high volumes. a USB headset/sound card fixes that issue by removing it.

Overall, this tablet is well worth it and then more. Its a great little travel companion with the features of Full windows 10.

Hard to beat value for a windows computer, but it needs more RAM, December 18, 2017
    By
    D. Christensen (Leominster, MA United States)

    RCA Cambio W101SA23T1 Tablet
    Summary of my General Impression…
It’s a small and cheap windows 10 laptop, without a keyboard***. For the price, the only thing you can complain about is the lack of RAM. Even for a cheap laptop, there is no excuse for equipping a Windows 10 computer with just 2GB of RAM. Over time, I have realized that the ONLY problem I have with this laptop is directly related to …RAM starvation in Windows.
Other than not enough RAM, this is actually a pretty nice computer. For the price.

*** Yeah, I know you are confused. Doesn’t it include a keyboard? I think if you read my review of the keyboard later, you will conclude that it does NOT really include a keyboard.

Side Note: During this review, I use the term “laptop” a bit. Yes, I know it is a tablet. But I’m using it as a laptop. That is how I think about it, and how I am reviewing it. I think it’s fair to review it as a laptop, as RCA included a keyboard with it. So if you use it with a keyboard, what exactly is the difference between a (tablet with keyboard), and a laptop?

    How I chose the Cambio…
I wanted something cheap (and around 12” screen, roughly) that could act as a power-user Internet browser. I liked Android tablets, but I wanted something that would run a full Microsoft Office Suite. Yes, I know that you can run Office applications on Android, and that they are free. But I also wanted to be able to network with desktops and laptops running various forms of windows. You can do that with android, but it’s not as elegant as using a Windows platform. I’ve also considered Chromebook, but I don’t like the fact that (most of them) can’t run android apps.
Basically, I wanted something really cheap that could run all Android apps or all Windows apps, and preferably something that could network easily with other machines running windows. A cheap windows laptop? Yes, they exist. But I have good taste. Every windows laptop I saw, I would think…oh if it just had a better processor (and then the price would jump another 100 bucks) All the windows laptops I liked seemed to be at least $400, which was way more than I wanted to spend. Ironically, smaller laptops tend to be more expensive, also.
Finally, I spotted this Cambio on a Black Friday sale for a price that was impossible to pass up. I knew it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for, but I wasn’t going to find a better deal any time soon. So I grabbed it.

A word on VALUE for the money…
You can find many hundreds of dual boot android/windows tablets. But those tablets will cost more (more than the RCA Cambio), unless you are willing to settle for a 7” or 8” display.
There are many Chromebook available around the same price as an RCA Cambio. Most of the Chromebook have larger displays, and some of the Chromebook even have 4GB of RAM. However, 4GB of RAM is wasted on a Chromebook. Also, most Chromebook cannot run Windows or Android apps, at all. I don’t see the point of a Chromebook at all, really…
Good windows laptops start around $300 and go up (way up) from there. While most of them include 4GB or more of RAM (which is a good thing), you need to decide if you are willing to pay the price for a full-power windows computer.
If you want something to run Windows for a cheap price, it is going to be very hard to beat the RCA Cambio, the Z8350 version of it. If you can find this thing at a discount price, you are going to pay hundreds less than full-power windows 10 laptops. What’s the catch? It does lag, sometimes, due to RAM starvation. But overall, it’s not much of a compromise. Not as much as you would expect, anyway.

    More on RAM starvation…
From time to time, I will see the laptop freeze. I suspected the issue was related to RAM, but it took me a while to confirm it. When the RAM usage gets close to 100% is when the laptop starts freezing.
Let me explain what I mean by “freezing”. It wasn’t really freezing, but that was my impression based on what I was seeing and what I was NOT seeing.
Example. You’ve got your favorite web browser open with about 10 tabs. You open up another tab and see that the page is not loading. You wait several seconds and nothing at all appears to happen. But you still have control of the computer, it’s just that the web page is not loading. Stuff like that was happening all the time. Finally I realized…
THE LAPTOP IS ADJUSTING THE PAGE FILE!!! It took me a while to figure that out, as this laptop does not have a spinning platter hard drive. In “the old days” if windows was starved for RAM, you would know it as your hard drive would go crazy. You’d hear the hard drive chattering and see the activity light for your hard drive go crazy. On this laptop, there’s no mechanical hard drive, and no activity light for storage.
Consequently, when Windows is starved for RAM, it just appears like the…
